Transitition year presentation
We had two students Ruth and Lauren from transition year in the Ashbourne Community School visit our school today. They spoke to the three fifith classes and the Green Schools Committee about recycling plastic bottles. They gave a very interesting presentation on recycling. Here are some of the interesting facts they spoke about.
Only one in five platic bottles are recycled.
It takes three times as much water to make a plastic bottle than to fill it.
Tap water is 1000 times more expensive than botled water.
It takes 17 million barrels of oil to make plastic bottles every year. This is the same as providing petrol for one million cars for one year.
