Dear God, thank you for our friends. Thank you for the fun we can have with them and the happy times we spend together. Please help me to be a good friend. Please help me not to be selfish but to think always of other people and their needs. Amen
Good luck to all the children in 2nd class who will be making their first penance next Wednesday the 4th of March at 7pm in the church in Ashbourne. This is a very special occasion for everyone involved. We look forward to it.
Images Art Exhibition
Well done to all the children in 1st class whose pictures were framed and exhibited in the hall for parents and the rest of the school to see. There was some excellent art displayed and no doubt your parents were impressed with the talent. Thank you to Ms Coote for coordinating the event.
PA School Disco
The Parents Association held two discos last Wednesday the 19th of February. There was great excitement in the school and I am pleased to report the behaviour was excellent. Thank you to the PA for organising a fantastic night and to everyone who volunteered their time to make the event successful. We are very lucky to have such a hard working PA.
Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. Lent is forty days, leading up to Easter, when we think especially about our relationship with God.
It reminds us of the time when Jesus spent forty days in the desert, thinking deeply about his relationship with God, his Father. Lent is a time when we try extra hard to do what is right by trying our best to make the right choices. It is a time to think about how much we love God – and how much he loves us.

Teach us, 0 God, to take a good look at ourselves during Lent
To thank you for the good things
And to ask your forgiveness for the not so good things,
So that, with your help, we can grow
To be all that you would wish us to be. Amen.
