Today is World Book Day. We had Seosamh Ó’MaolalaíI a part-time story teller in our school today to tell stories to some of our classes. Seosamh used a variety of picture books, big books and story books for his presentation. He told traditional tales, funny stories and scary stories. He told some stories in English and some in Irish. The children loved it and listened very attentively and even took part in some of the stories.
Lots of classes took part in various activities as part of World Book Day. Ms Leggett’s Senior Infants brought in their favourite book to read. Teacher even dressed up in her amazing costume from her favourite book. “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”. She was very hungry all day!!! In the afternoon all classes took part in DEAR- Drop Everything And Read. All the children were given book tokens as part of celebrating World Book Day., Thank you to Ms Lydon for organising the day.
