Sports Day 11th June 2019
It was a lovely dry and warm day in Ashbourne today so Sports Day went ahead in St. Declan’s. We had a fun filled day of activities. Children from Junior Infants to second put the wheels in motion from 10-12 am followed by 3rd to sixth classes from 12 30-2 30 pm. Lots of parents came along to cheer the children on. We had the following stations for the classes to carry out.
Clothes peg game, obstacle course, target hoops, tug-of-war, water races, relay races, egg and spoon, beanbag races, bowling, parachute, cups and saucers, leap frog, train tracks, penalty shoot out, dodge ball and tug of war. The children were a credit to their teachers and parents and were really well behaved. A big thank you to Mr Farrell and Mr Mc Keown for coordinating the day and to all the SET eachers, SNA’s and students who helped out at each station. The day ran very smoothly as a result. Have a look at all the fun we had.
Junior Infants to 2nd Classes
Third to sixth classes
The cake sale also went really well. Thank you to all families that donated items for the cake sale. All classes had an oppurtunity to go out to purchase items throughout the day and we had a steady stream of parents calling in for tea and a bun. Updates of proceeds will be communicated shortly. Thank you to our PA for organising the cake sale and providing parents to help out on the day. As always it is very much appreciated.
