It was a lovely dry and warm day in Ashbourne today so Sports Day went ahead in St. Declan’s. We had a fun filled day of activities. Children from Junior Infants to second put the wheels in motion from 10-12 am followed by 3rd to sixth classes from 12 30-2 30 pm. Lots of parents came along to cheer the children on. We had the following stations for Junior Infants to second.
Clothes peg game, obstacle course, target hoops, tug-of-war, water races, relay races, egg and spoon, beanbag races, bowling, parachute and tug of war. The children were a credit to their teachers and parents and were really well behaved. A big thank you to Mr Farrell and Mr Mc Kewn for coordinating the day and to all the teachers and students who helped out at each station. The day ran very smoothly as a result.
