It was a lovely dry and warm day in Ashbourne today so Sports Day went ahead in St. Declan’s. We had a fun filled day of activities and no doubt there will be lots of tired children tonight.. Children from Junior Infants to second put the wheels in motion from 10-12 am followed by 3rd to sixth classes from 12 30-2 30 pm. Lots of parents came along to cheer the children on. We had the following stations for Junior Infants to second.
Clothes peg game, obstacle course, target hoops,tug-of-war, water races, relay races, egg and spoon, beanbag races, bowling, parachute and tug of war. The children were a credit to their teachers and parents and were really well behaved. A big thank you to Ms Quinlan for coordinating the day and to all the teachers and students who helped out at each station. The day ran very smoothly as a result. Have a look at all the fun we had.
