Seachtain Na Gaeilge Room 11

We had a very busy week in Room 11 last week. We have been working hard learning some songs and poems for our ceolchoirm. We learnt the song the Rattling Bog which has lots of words and is sung very quickly but we have managed it really well!! We had a Tos Fada competition for all the boys and girls in first class and Christobel from our class won the overall prize for the girls. We had a poster competition and Fionn won the prize for the best colouring. We all came in today dressed in our green clothes. We looked amazing- there was green hair, wigs, glasses, flags, face painting, and some really cool costumes. Keela won the prize from our class for the best dressed. Look at all of us in our costumes.

We went to the hall today to perform our songs and poems for all the first and second classes. Amy, Gabriele and Ella did some Irish dancing and Naia played the tin whistle. Teacher was very proud of our performance.

We went on a parade around the school after little break and the classes from 3rd – 6th made a Guard of Honour for us to walk through.

Teacher brought in green and orange jelly for us with ice-cream so we were spoilt rotten. In the afternoon we moved all the tables and chairs and had a Ceili in our classroom. We played musical shamrocks. We then finished off our St Patricks Day artwork.

Happy St Patricks Day from all of us in Room 11.
