October Assemblies 25-10-2023

October 25, 2023

We had our October assemblies today. We spoke about our school marathon which was a huge success. We completed the marathon in 2 hours 42 minutes and 18 seconds.  Thank you to everyone who brought in some money. Ms Leggett’s Junior Infants brought in a whopping 903 euros.

We spoke about Maths week which took place last week in St. Declan’s. It was great to see all the classes involved in so many fun activities.   Some classes did maths trails, maths notice boards and maths workshops. Thank you to your teachers for making it such a fun week and to Mrs Brick for coordinating the week.

We revised our school rules. For the month of October we were focusing on being responsible by taking care of property, doing our homework, following our class and school rules.

We congratulated our new Students Council 2023-2024

Good Luck Zach

We had a very special end to our 3rd and 4th class assembly when Zach Healy form Ms Geraghty’s 4th class got to ring the bell to honour his last chemotherapy session in Crumlin Hospital tomorrow. Grace from Mr Barry’s 6th class dressed up as a minion as Zach loves minions. Ms Geraghty’s Mum baked a minion cake for Zach and we also had the whole school out to line a guard of honour for him to mark the occasion. It was lovely to be able to celebrate Zach’s good news with him.
