In September and October our four 6th classes have been receiving Spanish lessons with Carolina Fernandez-Garcia (an experienced Post-Primary teacher) as part of the “Say Yes to Languages” Primary Sampler Module. We are
very grateful to Carolina for her work with the children and they are really enjoyed the experience. We had a presentation in the hall earlier in the week to say thanks to her.

 “Language is one of the key means by which we think, express our thoughts, communicate and connect with others. Through introducing a Modern Foreign Language in our classroom we can expose you all to new cultures, active citizenship, inclusion and future learning. “

The four 6th classes were joined by the following Spanish pupils in our school-Pelayo from Room 21 and his brother Fionn from Room 26, James from Room 24 and his sister Erin from Room 19, Sienna from Room 5 and her sister Maia from Room 10, Maximo from Room 25, Maci from Room 10 and Axel from Room 13. Carolina practised different sentences with the children in Spanish.  The children were presented with certificates, pencils and stickers.  Elise and Brooke from Room 25 presented Carolina with a bouquet of flowers and a voucher.
