Junior Infant Clay Work Room 13
Clay is one of the five strand units taught as part of our Art curriculum. It helps improve eye and hand coordination and build both gross and fine motor skills. This helps with dexterity and is beneficial for children colouring, cutting and writing skills. Working with clay can be a very soothing and therapeutic activity for children and helps them to express themselves.
Mrs McCormack’s Junior Infants were very creative working with clay this week making pinch pots. They rolled out the clay, rolled it into a ball, then moulded it into a pot. When the clay set they painted their pots lovely bright colours. They did a super job. Teacher was so proud of their work. Well done Room 13!
