Happy Retirement Joanne

June 27, 2026

We had a lovely farewell earlier in the week for our secretary Joanne Tuite who is retiring.  Joanne walked down the red carpet to “Celebrate Good Times”.

Some of the 6th class students sang the very fitting “For Good”. We sang a song for Joanne to the tune of Jolene to fit the occasion. Karen Moss (Chairperson of the Parents’ Association) made a presentation of a bouquet of flowers and a gift collected from parents of the school. Karen McCaul (our other school secretary) read a beautiful poem which she had written especially for Joanne. The highlight was when Joanne’s husband, Andrew arrived on motorbike to whisk her away into retirement.

The children and staff recorded a video of heartfelt messages, tributes and memories for Joanne which we played for all at assembly

The Board of Management presented her with flowers and a gift at our 6th class graduation ceremony. On behalf of us all in St. Declan’s – colleagues, children, parents, Board of Management – thanks for everything Joanne- we will miss you. Wishing you every health and happiness in your retirement.
