Good luck to our 6th class children as they move on to a new stage in their lives. We had their graduation ceremony with their parents in the PE hall on Wednesday 24th June to acknowledge their eight years with us here in St. Declan’s. All the children received certificates and medals. 

The awards for 20252026 were as follows: 

Thomas Ashe Award – To acknowledge outstanding achievement and effort in academic learning. Well done to Matei Aldea, Isabella Comerford, Konrad McMahon and Sara Mallach who received this award.

 

Golden Heart Award–  for someone who showed remarkable kindness, friendship and respect towards others. Well done to Penny Browning, Mike McLaughlin, Kyle Carroll and Scott Bradley who won this award.

Creative Arts Award – for someone who has shown fantastic ability, talent and creativity in the arts (music, art or drama). Congratulations to Patricia Prialgauskaite, Savina Elebert, Sofia Angustia and Lennon Moloney who won this award.

Outstanding Sports Achievement – Someone who has demonstrated excellent achievement, participation and contribution to sports in the school. This award went to Jamie Cowley,  Alannah Graham, Logan Ryan and Mai Madigan.

Reidy Award Sportsperson of the Year – This award went to Ella O’ Neill for her excellent contribution to sport during her time in St. Declan’s. This award is in honour of our former principal Frank Reidy who worked tirelessly to promote sport in the school and across Co. Meath

Overall Attendance Award – We like to acknowledge the importance of school attendance – every day counts. Tom Derwin had the best overall attendance for the last eight years in St. Declan’s. This is an exceptional achievement.

Courage and Resilience Award– Well done Zach Healy !!

Pupil of the Year Award – this award is a long standing tradition. The pupil of the year 2025-2026 was James Delaney. Huge congratulations James !!

Thank you to the four 6th class teachers Mrs O’ Rourke, Ms Molloy, Ms Little and Ms McGee for their dedication and hard work with their classes and to all the teachers and SNAs who have worked with these classes over the past eight years. We wish them all the very best of luck in secondary school and we will miss them all in St. Declan’s. Thank you to Mr McKeown and Mrs O’ Rourke for providing the music on the night. Also thanks to our PA for providing refreshments for all families after the graduation.
