GAA Coaching in St. Declan’s NS

October 12, 2020

We started back our GAA training with Martin and Caroline from Donaghmore Ashbourne GFC. The playing and development of Gaelic games in and through the Primary School has been a traditional and vital custom over many, many years. It is founded on the strong and vibrant relationship between the GAA Club and the Primary School at local level. All lessons are designed to meet the aims of the children and teachers are encouraged to work together with coaches to maximise the impact for pupils. We hope many of our pupils will go on to play in the Cumann na mBunscol as they move up through primary school. Cumann na mBunscol is the voluntary organisation of primary school teachers who promote our native games of camogie, hurling, football, rounders, handball and athletics. Mr Farrell co-ordinates all our sporting activities in St. Declan’s NS.

Have a look at Ms Crowley’s 2nd class Room 19 and Ms Mc Enroy’s 2nd class Room 16 in action.
