Causey Farm tour

The three 2nd classes went on school tour on Monday the 11th of June. The day started with a visit to the restored Martry Mill, just 5 miles from Causey Farm, where the children saw wheat being milled. They then took this to Causey Farm where they made brown bread with the freshly milled flour.

On the farm,  they got to meet all the traditional farm animals – cattle, sheep, geese, turkeys, pigs, and goats.

Then they had a bodhrán workshop, giant bubble blowing, a tractor/trailer ride to the bog, an obstacle course there, a turf cutting demonstration and the highlight for many – jumping in the bog.

It was a great day out and the children had a ball.
