Artefact Day

To promote the enjoyment in history each year the children in sixth class bring in some historical artefact. On this day the children then present their artefact the the children in younger classes by explaining its signifiance and its origin. This day is thoroughly enjoyed by all.

We had Artefact Day today in St. Declan’s. The children from Mr Farrell’s, Ms O’Connor’s, and Mr Lydon’s brought in items. All children from 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes came out to view the items. We had old clothes, old dolls,a sewing machine, coins, stamps, maps, books, medals, pictures and  roll books. Thank you to all the 6th class pupils who made the effort to bring in items. Thank you to Ms O’Malley for organising the day. It was a very interesing and fun way to learn history.
