Artefact Day 2015
To promote the enjoyment in history each year the children in sixth class bring in some historical artefact. On this day the children then present their artefact the the children in younger classes by explaining its signifiance and its origin. This day is thoroughly enjoyed by all. Andrew and Ose brought in a 1990’s VHS tape and a hand stitched quilt.
Faramade, Serena and Catilyn brought in old Irish coins, board games and an Evening Herald newspaper from 1979 with an article about Pope John Paul’s visit to Ireland.
Aoife and Ben brought in coins from 1928, a census from Ireland a pocket watch and army medals.
Sean and Ciara brought in old photographs and an Ava Maria statute.
Katie and Anna brought in a Sinn Fein handbook and a Granny’s Irish school book.
Jodie, Lauren an Ailcia brought in a family tree book and an old family photograph.
Katie and Kayleigh brought in a teddy that is sixty one years old and a 1970’s music record.
Aaron Nd Rimvydas brought I glal stamps, old newspapers, a 1911 census, and old driving licence and a 1990’s school communin ass booklet.
Jane and Rachel brought in old Guiness items and an anvil and mince maker.
