5th Class Talk from Barretstown
Robyn and Paula from Barretstown visited our school last Friday the 16th of May to talk to the children about cancer and how families are affected by cancer and other serious illnesses. In particular they wanted to help the children in our four fifth classes understand cancer as Zach in Room 7 has had a personal battle with cancer over the past few years. The children were engaged in a fun, interactive way, addressing the topic of serious illnesses in a child-
friendly manner. They showed the children the diaries of two teenagers to help facilitate a conversation about the importance of talking to our friends when we are sad and lonely. The children had lots of interesting questions for Paula and Robyn.
