2nd Class Slime Workshop
As part of STEM week Ms McHugh’s 2nd class and Ms Crehan’s 2nd class got to visit the library for a slime workshop. The children loved the messy play and got to dress up as real scientists with white coats and goggles. There were lots of green sticky hands coming back to school.
Slime provides a kind of ‘sensory play’, which helps to engage a kid’s senses, stimulate creativity, and can have a calming, in-the-moment effect. It also triggers their curiosity – the gooey texture of slime occupies a weird middle ground between solid and liquid.
