On the lead up to Christmas our school have worked very hard in trying to reduce waste by designing our very own recyclable wrapping paper. We want to reduce our waste at Christmas to make a difference in our environment. We are designing recyclable wrapping paper because lots of wrapping paper cannot be recycled.
This week every class designed their own festive wrapping paper by using brown paper and coloured paper. We also used stencils, glitter, wool, leaves, doilies and candy canes to make our wrapping paper look festive. The Green Schools Committee encouraged the pupils of St. Declan’s to carry out this activity. We had lots of fun carrying out this activity and we hope to make it an annual event.
