There was big excitement in our school last week when it rained so much we were surrounded by floods. Last Thursday the 13th of November is a day that we will remember in Ashbourne. Heavy rain caused floods to surround our school and we couldn’t get back into our Prefab after big break as the water was too high for us to walk through. We got to go home early as Mr Reidy was worried that the weather was going to get worse. Lots of houses beside our school were flooded and fire brigades had to come to pump the water out. Our new building site at the front of the school was like a swimming pool. We wrote about the flood the next day in our free writing copies.  Teacher was very impressed with our work. Luckily the flood only lasted for one day !!!
