Room 7 Balancing
We are focusing on balance through gymnastics for the month of January. All classes will carry out assessments on balance at the end of the month.
Balance is essential for all physical development and is a prerequisite for almost every movement skill. Balance is sub divided into
1. Static balance: the ability to maintain a static position throughout a movement
2. Dynamic balance: controlling the body when moving.
All classes will be peer assessing next week. They will be looking at the ability to focus on a target while balancing, using their arms and other body parts to counter balance and the ability to balance on either leg with their eyes closed.
Mr ‘Sullivan’s 4th class are practising for an active performance at our January assembly. We can’t wait to see them in action.
