October in Ms.Curran’s 4th class
We’ve had a very busy month here in Room 25! We’ve been working really hard! Here is an example of what we have been getting up to..
GAA
We’ve been learning lots of new skills with our GAA coaches Martin and Maura. We’ve been working really hard on our hand passing, kick passing and pick up. Martin was delighted to hear we had a Dublin flag up in our classroom… he even came in to get a picture!
Planting
For our 40th anniversary celebrations, we planted daffodil bulbs with Tommy. We can’t wait until Springtime to see our flowers bloom!
Library Visit
We were the lucky class to be chosen to attend a talk with author Oisín McGann in Ashbourne library. Oisín told us all about his job as a writer and illustrator and we talked about our favourite books. He also demonstrated how to draw an illustration for a book and we got to help him create different characters!
Projects
In History this month, we’ve been learning all about Ancient Rome. We created projects which focused on many aspects of Roman life including the Roman Empire, army, food, clothing, buildings and roman numerals. A lot of work went into our projects and teacher was very impressed by each and every one! Here our some examples of our super work.
Halloween Art!
Take a look at our fantastic “Dia de los Muertos” inspired skulls!
