There was great excitement in St. Declan’s this week as Mr Mulroe’s 4th class awaited the arrival of new chicks. The chicks have been incubating for the past few weeks and they eventually arrived safely this week. We now have ten new chicks and some of them hatched while the children were watching. The excitement was tremendous!! Just as well Mr Mulroe is also a qualified midwife as well as a teacher. The chicks have been on tour in our PE hall the past few days and all classes got a chance to come out to see them. Mr Mulroe’s class created a life cycle of the chicken for the other classes to read. We now have to choose ten names for our new arrivals. Thank you to Mr Mulroe for organising this for the children.
