We had our mini leagues final yesterday in St. Declan’s. Classes 2nd to 6th have been busy competing in matches for the last two weeks at break time. The teams in the final were…………………….
Scartaglen managed by Ms Conway and Ms O’Connor
Clonbur – managed by Ms Joyce and Mrs Mc Cormack The sun was beaming down on all pupils from 1st to 6th classes as they gathered on the pitch to watch the final of the mini leagues. Mr Ryan was referee for the match and Mr Mc Keown was the commentator. It was a very close game with both teams evenly matched. At half time there was just a point between the teams. We were entertained by Bernard the voice Joyce during the interval as he took to the stage to sing “When I grow up I want to play for the county”, by the two Johnnies. The final score was 1-8 to 1-6 in favour of Clonbur. Well done to Ms Joyce and Mrs Mc Cormack the sucessful managers. Congratulations to both teams on their performance and well done to all children who partivcipated in the mini leagues to date. Thank you to Farrell our sports co-ordinator for organising the event.
