Each year to promote Maths in our school we hold a Maths Week. During this week  the children are encouraged to recognise Maths in our daily lives and play games  that involve mathematical concepts. Maths week in St Declan’s was full to the brim  with fun filled Maths activities. Junior Infants to second classes were kept busy sorting, matching,  classifying, balancing, ordering and sequencing sets. Our 5th classes went to the Helix to see Andrew Jeffrey who is a mathemagician. Different classes completed Maths trails around the school. They used  their Maths eyes to find shapes, numbers, colours in the environment. Thank you to Mrs Brick for coordinating the week. It was a huge success.
