Internet Safety Day 10-02-2026

February 21, 2026

The internet is an integral part of our lives, providing fantastic opportunities to learn, create and connect, but the online world also creates challenges. We encourage parents to have open and regular conversations with your child about the internet. To talk to them about benefits and the risks, but also to listen to what your child has to say and to learn about their life online. Research consistently shows that many children do not tell if something goes wrong online. Having conversations with your child is one of the most effective ways of ensuring that they have a safe and positive experience, and to help them to feel comfortable coming to you, Well done to all the children from the Students Council who presented assemblies to the children in 3rd to 6th class in relation to the internet. The children in 1st and 2nd class received visits to their classrooms for Internet Safety Day and the Junior and Senior Infant classes had stories from Digiduck read to them. Well done to George Thompson, Cian Tobin and Odhran O’ Connell from 5th class for performing the Internet Safety rap and sharing it with everyone.
