Grandparents Day 04-04-2025

April 17, 2025

On the 4th of April, our school was delighted to welcome over 400 grandparents to celebrate Grandparents Day — a truly special occasion for our children, their families, and our staff. The day was filled with joy, gratitude, and connection across generations.

We began by gathering in the hall, where our Student Council gave a warm and thoughtful presentation to everyone in attendance. Under the direction of Ms McQuaid, our talented school band performed beautifully, leading into a wonderful singalong of The Yellow Submarine by The Beatles — a moment enjoyed by all!

Ms Collins’ first class captured everyone’s hearts with a lovely poem dedicated to the grandparents, followed by a touching video featuring children from across the school sharing their favourite memories with their grandparents.

Father Stephen led us in prayer, remembering grandparents who have passed and offering a special blessing for all those present.

Following the assembly, our guests were invited to visit classrooms where teachers and students had prepared artwork, questions, stories, and songs to share. It was a lovely opportunity for children to showcase their learning and creativity with pride.

After the classroom visits, our Parents Association provided a delicious spread of refreshments, and everyone enjoyed a delightful performance by our 5th class choir under the direction of Mr McKeown and Mrs O’Rourke.

A huge thank you to Ms Crehan for coordinating this event, and to all the grandparents who made a special effort to be with us — your presence meant the world.

It truly was a day to remember!
