Go Raibh Maith Agat
Today we celebrated Go Raibh Maith Agat Day.
This is a day to show national solidarity and appreciation, and to say thanks and “go raibh maith agaibh” to our school communities.
2020 is the year we will remember when our front-line workers became our heroes and our school leaders, teachers and ancillary staff essentially became front line workers. We want to say thank you to our entire school community who helped in the organisation, planning and adaptations required to reopen schools in safety was a monumental achievement. We worked together as a team to ensure our children were safe and cared for as they returned to school. The value of keeping schools open for our students in terms of their educational, developmental and wellbeing needs cannot be understated.
To celebrate the day in St. Declan’s NS the Board of Management organised a coffee truck to come to school to treat our staff to teas, coffees and treats. It was a lovely surprise for everyone.
