First Holy Communion 2018

The Communion Ceremony will take place on Saturday next, 19th of May, at 12 o’clock, in the church in Ashbourne. Please try to be seated by 11.40 am. Three families are assigned to each seat (4 people per family), and there will be room at the back of the Church for members of your extended family. Please note that NO VIDEOS OR PHOTOGRAPHS are allowed during the ceremony as this distracts the children. At the end of the ceremony there will be an opportunity for family photographs on the steps of the altar. We are asking everyone to be respectful during the ceremony, especially when the children come to the altar to receive Communion. All mobile phones should be turned off. Communion children, their parents, families and friends are invited to St. Declan’s School for refreshments after the ceremony. All are welcome.
The photographer, Norman Blakeney, will be in the school at 9.15 a.m. on Monday, 21st of May. Whether you wish to avail of his services or not, please send your child in on Monday dressed in his/her Communion clothes as a group photograph will be taken. Due to the large number of children making their Communion we are giving time slots to each class. Please make sure all children are in school by 9 15 am for class photographs.
