First Holy Communion 2017
Our First Holy Communion Ceremony will take place this Saturday the 27th of May, at 12 o’clock, in the church in Ashbourne. Please try to be seated by 11.40 am. Three families are assigned to each seat (4 people per family), and there will be room at the back of the Church for members of your extended family.
Please note that NO VIDEOS OR PHOTOGRAPHS are allowed during the ceremony as this distracts the children. At the end of the ceremony there will be an opportunity for family photographs on the steps of the altar. We are asking everyone to be respectful during the ceremony, especially when the children come to the altar to receive Communion. All mobile phones should be turned off. Communion children, their parents, families and friends are invited to St. Declan’s School for refreshments after the ceremony. All are welcome.
The photographer, Norman Blakeney, will be in the school at 9.15 a.m. on Monday, 29th of May. Whether you wish to avail of his services or not, please send your child in on Monday dressed in his/her Communion clothes as a group photograph will be taken. Please make sure all children are in school by 9 15 am for class photographs.
We wish all the boys and girls and their families all the best for the big day. Thank you to Ms Doran, Ms Quinlan and Ms Tobin who are preparing the children for the sacrament. Also thank you to Ms Lydon, Ms mc Gowan and Mr Mc Keown who are busy preparing the choir for the ceremony.
