Fifth and Sixth Class December Assembly
We had our December assembly yesterday for 5th and 6th classes. We started assembly with a prayer.
God our Father, as we light the different coloured candles we remember that you are the light of the world, especially at this, the darkest time of the year. Bless our families as we journey through Advent. May your light guide us on our way. Amen
Mr Kearins
At Christmas let’s remember that Jesus is the greatest gift of all. He was born in a manger many years ago and he is alive today. Although we can’t see him right now we know he is the greatest King of all and that he loves us and leads us into the wonderful life to God. Help us to enjoy the season of Christmas but also to remember Jesus at this very special time.
Prayers of the faithful Room 3 Mr Ryan
Let us pray for peace in the world so that everyone living where there is war and fighting will know the peace of Christ is coming.
Let us pray for the people in our community who are sick and lonely. That they may find hope this Christmas.
Let us pray for everyone who is homeless this Christmas. That they may find strength to get through this difficult time.

Christmas Concerts
Congratulations to all the children and teachers on your performances last week. What great shows they were. I can’t believe how good everyone was .Well done to all your teachers and SNA’s who spent the last few weeks preparing classes for the concerts and a special thanks to Mr Mc Keown who co-ordinated the event. We were really proud of all of you.
St Vincent De Paul
This year instead of collecting food we are going to bring €1 euro in on Thursday for St. Vincent De Paul. They help people who are struggling at Christmas to buy food. The money we raise will be used for food vouchers. I can’t wait to see you all on Thursday in your Christmas jumpers.
We had Gay and Kate in from St. Vincent De Paul to speak to the children about the work they do for SVDP.
The choir performed some Christmas songs to end assembly.
