Our assembly today is about bullying.The definition of bullying is when an individual or a group of people with more power, repeatedly and intentionally cause hurt or harm to another person or group of people who feel helpless to respond. Bullying can continue over time, is often hidden from adults, and will probably continue if no action is taken. Bullying is not single episodes of aggression or intimidation or a once off fight. We are going to looked at a power point about bullying.

Bullying is repeated unkind behaviour towards another person.                   Bullying has negative effect on people. Bullying can be making threats, spreading rumours, attacking someone physically or verbally, excluding someone from a group on purpose.

If bullying happens you need to ……………….

1.Tell the person to stop, that it is not OK and that you will tell an adult

2.Tell someone (a friend, a teacher or your parents)

3.Keep the evidence and keep a record 

Cyberbullying is when people bully others using an electronic device (e.g. phones, computers, through online gaming. It can be:abusive /hurtful messages , unwanted content, impersonation or exclusion.Ask an adult or friend that you can trust for advice. If cyber bullying occur….use the report button for the social media it’s happening on and speak to someone you trust about the situation. We spoke about different examples of bullying and how we can help St Declan’s be a bully free zone.

Thank you to the choir who were fantastic on the day of the Communion . It made the day extra special with all the beautiful singing. Thank you to Mrs O’Rourke, Ms Lydon, Mr Mc Keown and Ms Kelly for their hard work. Well done to Jamie Fennelly and Amy Richardson who served mass with Father Ciaran.

Football Final- Well done to the Boys Senior Football team won won the Fingal Final and the Shield Cup at the weekend. It is a credit to the school and we are all very proud of them. Thank you to Mr Farrell, Mr Lydon and Mr Ryan for training them.
