This week we celebrate the gift of Catholic Schools and of Catholic Education. The theme for Catholic Schools Week 2025 is Alive in Christ. All classes are learning different prayers and working on different activities for the week. Our pilgrim walk for our 5th classes took place today. We started at St. Mary’s NS and we said a few prayers with Father Michael and Paul O’ Connor (Principal) gave a brief history about St. Mary’s. We sand Sing to the Mountains together. Then we all walked to St. Declan’s NS and we said some more prayers. Mr Kearins spoke about the history of St. Declan’s. In Gaelscoil na Cille Deirdre Nic Uaid gave an overview of how Gaelscoil na Cille was established. We closed the ceremony by singing Walk in the Light of Christ.

Each school designed a poster to carry on the pilgrim walk.

Our three 3rd classes will also be going to mass on Thursday the 23rd of January. We are proud to promote our Catholic ethos in St. Declan’s NS.
