Dr. Conor Thornberry visited Mr. McKeown’s 6th class and Ms. Leggett’s Senior Infants, as part of Brain Awareness Week. The sixth class children created wonderful posters which illustrated ways to keep the brain healthy, after listening to a short presentation from Conor. The Senior Infants were tasked with making brains from play-dough, as well as colouring the brain and trying to split it into the 5 main sections. They were very excited to learn about all the different parts and functions of the brain. The children’s posters and colouring were then displayed in the National College of Ireland (NCI) where various neuroscientists were attending a workshop to mark Brain Awareness Week 2025.
