Active schools week takes place in St. Declan’s next week. We have a number of fun activities planned for the students to participate in throughout the week. Students will be spending extra time outdoors during the week, and it may be necessary for your child to wear protective sunscreen, and bring extra drinks if needed. We are also encouraging students to make a special effort each to do at least 15 minutes active homework each evening.

Our annual sports day will take place over 2 days this year. Sports day for 3rd, 4th 5th & 6th class will take place next Monday 14th June Sports day Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 1st & 2nd class will take place on Tuesday 15th June Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions and Department of Education guidelines, parents are not permitted to attend this year. We acknowledge this is disappointing for parents as you cannot be present on such an enjoyable day in the school year. We will share photographs on our school website and twitter for parents to view.

We also have dance with Ms Brogan and Yaz , Irish dancing with Ms Jenkinson, yoga with Ms O’Halloran and Ms Fitzgerald, tag rugby with Ashbourne Rugby Club and GAA coaching with Donnaghamore Ashbourne GFC lined up for different classes throughout the week.
