St. Declan’s Parents’ Association

The Parents Association works to provide a structure through which the parents/guardians of children attending St Declan’s National School can work together for the best possible education for their children. We work with the principal, staff and Board of Management to build effective partnership between school and home. The Parents Association aim to enable parents to play their part in ensuring provision of the best possible education for their children and this is achieved through the Associations programme of activities. We promote the interests of the students in co-operation with the Board of management, Principal, teacher and students in accordance with the provision of Education Act, 1998.

Every parent/guardian is automatically a member of the Parents Association by virtue of the fact that your child is enrolled in the school.

While all parents are part of the Parents Association, not all can be involved in the day to day business of organising the work, hence we elect a committee.

The committee is the team of people who manage the task of the Parents Association on behalf of the parents/guardians. The committee works as a team. The committee manages the business of the Parents Association in accordance with the constitution of the Parents Association.

The AGM will take place on Monday the 20th of November at 7 30 pm in the PE hall. All members are welcome. We hope to see new members there as well. The AGM will provide an opportunity to find out more about the PA and be involved in the election of new members to the committee. If you think you might be interested in joining the PA you will be most welcome. There are a number of officer positions available and if you are interested please contact the committee on stdeclans77@gmail.com.
